Supervisor Charlotte M. Brandon
Charlotte Marie was born to Robert and Elsie Lewis, June 27, 1945 in Portland, Oregon and has 6 siblings, She is the proud wife of Charley Brandon, First Assistant Pastor of Walker Temple Church of God in Christ, together they have two children, daughter Tracy Brandon-Crittenden (Gene, son-in-law), son Thomas Terrell Brandon and four grandchildren Quiana & Channelle-Nicole Crittenden, Trevor & Thomas Terrell Jr. Brandon.
God called Charlotte and she accepted His call at the tender age of 12 at St. Paul COGIC. At the age of 18 she joined William Temple COGIC, now Walker Temple COGIC. There she has served in countless positions. In later years she was called to a higher level of service as an Evangelist Missionary and served that appointment admirably. She was appointed to work as Executive Chairperson for Oregon First Jurisdiction Women’s Department; she was subsequently appointed to serve as the Jurisdictional Supervisor of Oregon First Jurisdiction.
Evangelist Brandon is also known as “Mama Charlotte” because of her transparency and communication style. She willingly shares her failures as well as successes and is emulated because of the positive example she sets. She cares about people and has a genuine heart for others, as a result to inspire them. She is an avid reader, often sharing what she learns to invest in others. She strives to reach people where they are using a non-conventional approach combined with heartfelt compassion to bring the lost to Christ. Mother Brandon is anointed to develop and minister at conferences, conventions, workshops, revivals and various convocation settings, living her life by her favorite scripture Proverbs 3:5-6.
Spiritually serving in numerous positions on the local and Jurisdictional level in the Church of God in Christ she was Chairlady of the YPWW Department, State Sunday School Field Representative, Personal Assistant to the former Supervisor and Women’s Jurisdictional Adjutant. She was President of We Twelve, Assistant Program Coordinator for the Jurisdiction Women’s Department and State Minister of Music. Evangelist Brandon served on the Executive Board for the Women’s Department of Oregon First Jurisdiction. In July 2005 Evangelist Brandon was selected to serve as Jurisdictional Supervisor for Oregon First Jurisdiction under the leadership of Prelate Bishop A. R. Hopkins Sr. On November 11, 2005 the General Supervisor, Mother Willie Mae Rivers installed her as Jurisdictional Supervisor of Oregon First. In 2009 she was appointed to the National Advisory Board of the International Women’s Department of the Church of God in Christ. In 2010 Mother Brandon was appointed to serve on the National Executive Board of Women for the Church of God in Christ to assist Jurisdictional Supervisors and leading women as needed through mentoring and training of ministry operations.
As of 2011, Mother Brandon has begun launching a mentoring program call "Women Are Worthy". Women are Worthy is dedicated to promoting self awareness in women. Its mission is to empower women to initiate positive, personal and social change by encouraging and developing their potential. To spiritually and emotionally uplift their minds and souls while enhancing their everyday lives and those around them; understanding that “Behind Every Successful Woman Is Herself”
Naturally she is the Vice President of Tee Bee Enterprises, Inc., a series of commercial operations and is the emeritus founder of “Mothers of the Professional Basketball Players Inc.” (MPBP). Being miraculously healed of liver and colon cancer, she remains connected and loyal to her labor with the National Cancer Society. In 2004 she became one of the newest members of the National Prevent Child Abuse America Board. She has been on the domestic & international lecture circuit as a motivational speaker, personal coach and mentor speaking at churches, seminars, universities and various other events. She brought the commencement speech to the Jefferson High School graduating class and the University of Oregon Black Student Union. She worked for 15 years as an assistant Social Worker and as an entrepreneur owned and operated “Char-Gal”, a hat and accessories boutique.
Mother Brandon believes prayer is the key to being a doer of the Word and receiving the promises of God. Her spiritual mentors; the late Dr. Elsie Shaw, International Prayer Leader for COGIC and Mother Gertrude Young, Supervisor of Washington State; taught her that prayer is absolutely essential to ensure a right relationship with God. |
